A Look Back at Rooms with a View: Press & Pics

Thank you to everyone who came out to view my vignette, “Embers Lounge” at Rooms with a View last month. I was sincerely touched by the amazing feedback and support. The theme of “Comfort & Joy” resonated with me as that is an experience that I aim to create in all of my projects — I think I achieved that in this small yet powerful design.

Here’s a look back at the space, which I hope brings you “Comfort & Joy.”

The response to Rooms with a View was very exciting and it’s so interesting to read the many different perspectives on the showhouse. Here are a few of my favorite posts. Wishing you all Comfort & Joy this holiday season as we head into the New Year.

Now in its 22nd year, Rooms with a View (RWAV) is a prestigious, landmark interior design event in Fairfield County. Rooms with a View is led by Honorary Chairman, Thom Filicia and is regularly featured by national magazines, from Architectural Digest to Domino, and is sponsored by the following local publications: Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, Serendipity, athome and New England Home.

Each year, a select group of twelve leading interior designers are each invited to create a 6′ x 8′ vignette in a “room” staged in the historic Southport Congregational Church.

In creating her design, Stephanie Rapp wanted to evoke a mood inspired by this year’s theme of “Comfort & Joy.” Rapp designed an inviting space that also feels festive and fun with a cool, lounge ambience. Warm tones in orange and gold make the space feel cozy and welcoming while cool, silvery chairs and acrylic and marble accents bring a glam vibe. With a bar and comfy seating, it truly makes you want to curl up with a cool cocktail. Cheers to that!
